1960 T2D Heritage Green Baja
Built to bespoke specifications, the Type 2 Detectives Baja's are built out of the want to have something fun and desirable but also harking back to the, "good old days" but this time done properly!
Body: Fully restored genuine VW body shell totally restored to better than new quality. Painted in Heritage Green inside and out and reassembled with a hint of minimalism. No stone has been left unturned; this is a true methodical, nut and bolt (body off pan) rebuild. The rebuild includes all new wiring and electrics, LED lighting and a modern charging system. All seals and fittings are new or exceptionally good reconditioned items.
Chassis and running gear: The chassis has also undergone a full rebuild, starting with soda blasting and epoxy sealing, the floors are new and the whole chassis has been treated to layers of Raptor Chassis Coating. All mechanical parts are either new or fully rebuilt. We have upgraded the brakes all around. The suspension has been raised and is now running uprated Bilstein dampers throughout. Wheels are 15inch steel and are wrapped in BF Goodridge Tyres.
Engine: A new 1776cc Air-cooled Flat 4 with Weber 40IDF carburettor and a bespoke stainless-steel exhaust helps the motivation, (a quiet pack exhaust system is an option)
Interior: The less is more style has been carried through to the interior, which features a pair of leather trimmed seats, and door panels re-stitched in matching cinnamon with a contrasting wool headliner and coco floor mats. Large areas of the interior feature exposed paintwork which ties the inside and outside of the car together beautifully.
