The car:

An old VW is more than just the sum of its parts. However, it’s precisely the parts that have been bolted to this Split that make it what it is today.

When it rolled off the production line it was just a plain ol’ 11-window. Interesting? Yes. Special? Not so much…

This has been rectified, and then some with the addition of some of the finest modifications anyone can make to a vintage VW. And, when you start adding up what’s been done, you’ll soon realise this is a Bus that’s had a considerable amount of time, effort and money lavished on it.

This was a trend that began when it was sold new, back in 1963 as it was ordered with the costlier and more comfortable option of two front seats, rather than a regular bench seat. And, being a Walk-thru makes it much more user-friendly today, as you don’t have to climb out of the vehicle to access the rear.

Once you’re in the back you’ll find a lavishly upholstered three-seater bench that pulls out to form a bed and plenty of room to carry camping gear, shopping, or whatever else you see fit.

All of the upholstery has been trimmed in wine-red leather that is the perfect accompaniment to the black and white bodywork.

It takes a great deal of time and effort to paint anything black, never mind an old Bus, and the fabulous exterior has been further embellished with Deluxe belt-line trim, polished front and rear safari-windscreens and six pop-out side windows.

It goes as well as it looks too, thanks to a stout 2007cc engine and one of Creative Engineering’s famed steering rack conversions.

You’ll also find detailed Porsche Fuchs alloys with disc brakes front and rear, adjustable spring plates and independent rear suspension.

Everything you could possibly want to do to a Split Bus has already been done, so it’s ready to enjoy right now.
