1963 Karmann Ghia

U.S Californian Ghia

1600cc engine and mechanical recommission

Karmann Ghia's are recognised as one of the prettiest vehicles ever penned. Debuted as the Type 14 at the October 1953 Paris Auto Show as a styling concept, the Volkswagen executives proposed a halo car to its model range. Coachbuilder Karmann were commissioned for its manufacture and in turn contracted the Italian firm Ghia, who adapted styling themes previously explored for Chrysler and Studebaker to a Beetle floor pan widened by (300 mm).

The Karmann Ghia's body panels were butt-welded, hand-shaped, and smoothed with English pewter in a time-consuming process commensurate with higher-end manufacturers, resulting in the Karmann Ghia's stunning bodywork.

This Ghia draws so much attention. Not only are Karmann Ghia's a rare site, one with this much character and beautiful patina are exceptionally rare!

A very solid US 1963 Karmann Ghia, this particular car has had a lot of money spent on it from a mechanical point of view but also with it's stunning interior.

Running a 1600cc engine and front air shocks, this is a great cruising Ghia.
