This 1966 Right Drive Beetle really does need to be seen to be appreciated. An exceptionally well detailed restoration a number of years ago by renowned VW specialist Luke Theochari at Terry’s Beetle Services. It has since been part of a private collection, (along with numerous other classic Volkswagens) and wants for nothing.
The engine is a 1300 single port, with the electrics upgraded and converted to 12v and it just purrs along. The entire car looks factory fresh - not overly restored - just exactly how it should be. With perfect paint, new trim and rubbers throughout, the doors open and close with a reassuring ‘thunk’ and you’ll be just as happy once you’re inside, too.
Finished in its original Savannah Beige with Red Salt ’n’ Pepper vinyl upholstery it a classic and very stylish combination. The Beetle has had an extensive restoration with everything stripped back and either refurbished or replaced.
It’s a pleasure to drive something as smooth and comfortable as it would have been back in 1966. Stock right-hand drive ’60s Beetles in this sort of condition are a rare and incredibly welcome sight, and with a recorded 71,680 miles on the clock!
